𝙃𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙚𝙚𝙠: 𝙇𝘾𝙎𝙊 = 1 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 = 0 👀 “I’m proud of our deputies and the training they undergo to safely manage incidents like this one involving a barricaded subject,” said 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐨. “You can’t commit a crime and expect to escape accountability.” Last night, deputies responded to a call for service at a residence on Carolina Avenue in Fort Myers regarding an aggravated battery incident. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim outside the residence. The victim was found with a significant laceration on his forehead and reported that his neighbor had invited him over and, shortly after doing so, a verbal altercation turned physical. According to the victim, the suspect struck him in the head with a large object. Deputies proceeded to secure the residence and located the suspect, identified as 𝟐𝟑-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬, hiding in a closet beneath a pile of assorted items. Nicholas was safely removed from the closet and taken into custody without further incident.Detectives within our Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
