𝙍𝙀𝙋𝙀𝘼𝙏 𝙊𝙁𝙁𝙀𝙉𝘿𝙀𝙍 𝘾𝘼𝙉’𝙏 𝙊𝙐𝙏𝙎𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙏 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙇𝘼𝙒On August 16th, Community Service Officers (CSOs) responded to multiple past-occurred vehicle burglaries on Winged Foot Drive in Fort Myers. While on scene, the CSO’s extensively collected evidence and searched for any leads to track down the suspect.Due to the nature of the crime, 4th Precinct Crime Section Detectives assumed the investigation.Working closely with our Forensics Unit, the evidence collected by our CSOs led detectives to a person of interest. Detectives used this evidence -along with further investigative techniques- to build a case and identify 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 as the burglar.On September 2nd, deputies responded to Scott’s residence and detained him without incident. Scott was arrested for 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐟𝐭.“I am incredible proud of the cohesive efforts between our Community Services Officers, deputies, Forensics Unit, and detectives,” stated 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐨. Sheriff Carmine Marceno attended 𝐂𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐩 today at the 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 of the new McDonalds located within Coconut Point. Members of CRU and 4th Precinct joined in on the festivities for a meet&greet with our amazing residents under the ’𝒈𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔’.
